Coupling Multi-criteria Analysis and Life Cycle Approach for Sustainability Assessment of Social Housing in Ecuador

The main objective of this work is to provide a good understanding of the different aspects of social oriented dwellings in Ecuador. Life cycle thinking has been considered as the methodological framework to perform a multicriteria sustainability analysis. The energy performance of four continental models of dwelling was estimated by simulating each dwelling in Design Builder, using weather files from Meteonorm database. For the purpose of environmental assessment, EN 15978:2011 was taken into account. Based on the results obtained, it can be stated that the new models defined are not always favorable in terms of energy and environmental performance.
